<Day 3 ~ Royal Cinque Ports GC

Golf on Royal Cinque Ports . Deal, as it is more commonly known, lies along a continuous dune in a narrow strip of land between the English Channel and farm grazing land. It runs out along the seashore and returns inland on a parallel strip to its starting point in a traditional links layout. Deal has hosted the Open Championship in 1909 and 1920 and was to have done again in 1949 until the sea flooded the course. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

<Day 4 ~ Royal St George's Golf Club

Play Royal St George's , located on the Kent Coast of England.  A links course full of awkward twists and turns each designed to derail an overconfident approach. Founded in 1887 and intended by its founder, Dr William Laidlaw Purves, to be a rival to St Andrew’s in the South of England, St George’s is consistently ranked amongst the leading courses in the World.  The Club occupies a unique place in the history of golf, for it was here in 1894, that the Open Championship was first played outside Scotland. In all there have been 14 Open Championships played at St George’s, more than any course outside of Scotland.  The Open Championship returned to St George’s for the 15th time in 2021, when the Club hosted the 149th Open Championship.  (Handicap certification is required, and a maximum handicap index of 18.4 applies to all golfers).

<Day 5 ~ Walton Heath Golf Club

Golf today on Walton Heath - Old Course Set in the Surrey countryside lies on of England's best heathland courses. Fairways clad in heather and gorse and flanked on both sides by deep woodland of pines and silver birch. The club has a fascinating history, five times Open Championship James Braid was the first professional and members have included Winston Churchill and David Lloyd George. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Rich furnishings abound, bright bathrooms boast chrome and marble with deep ceramic baths, showers, Tea and Coffee making facilities and trouser press as standard. The 90 bedrooms and suites at the hotel are split into 5 separate locations on historic Thames Street. The Main House contains 58 bedrooms including room 2, Sir Christopher Wren's actual bedroom.

<Day 6 ~ Sunningdale Golf Club

Golf today at Sunningdale - Old Course The Old Course, designed by Willie Park, is the more famous of the two courses, but only acquired the title of Old when the New Course, was built in the 1920`s. The Old course, is widely regarded as one of the finest inland courses in England, with 103 bunkers, with pine, birch and oak trees lining the heather culminating with the famous 18th hole and the final green below the ''Sunningdale Oak Tree''.  Please note strict handicap limits are set by the club. Men 18 & Ladies 24.

<Day 7 ~ Swinley Forest Golf Club

Golf today at Swinley Forest . One of the finest example of heathland golf. The course is just over 6,000 yards from the back markers and has a par of 69, so by modern standards is relatively short but it is a beautiful course. It is noted for its wonderful collection of par three holes. Designed by Harry Colt and opened in 1909, Swinley Forest places exact demands on the highest skilled golfer, yet remain enjoyable to those less skilled. An exclusive members club Swinley has a unique charm and ambience.

<Day 8 ~ The Berkshire Golf Club

Today play The Berkshire - Red Course . Designed by Herbert Fowler in 1928, each hole is played in seclusion, the mature sycamore, birch, chestnut and pine trees providing majestic tunnels for the rippled fairways. A straight game is needed to keep out of the trees and heather. Its highly unusual design with 6 par threes, 6 par fours and 6 par fives make for a very interesting round. The hallmark of the course is definately the par threes each superb in its own right.

Golf Schedule

Royal Cinque Ports image

Deal, as it is more commonly known, lies along a continuous dune in a narrow strip of land between the English Channel and farm grazing land. It runs out along the seashore and returns inland on a parallel strip to its starting point in a traditional links layout. In the prevailing wind the seven-hole finishing stretch is second-to-none. Deal has hosted the Open Championship in 1909 and 1920 and was to have done again in 1949 until the sea flooded the course.
Royal St. George's image

This memorable links has been a regular member of the Open Championship rotation. Harry Vardon, Walter Hagen, Greg Norman and Darren Clarke are great golfers to hoist the Claret Jug trophy here. The par-3 No. 16 at Royal St. George’s has delivered pleasure and pain over the years. Tony Jacklin made the first televised hole-in-one there in 1967. Thomas Bjorn watched his Open Championship hopes fade when he needed three shots to escape a greenside bunker there in 2003.
Walton Heath - Old Course image

Set deep in the Surrey countryside lies one of England's best heathland courses. Fairways clad in heather and gorse and flanked on both sides by deep woodland of pines and silver birch. The club has a fascinating history, five times Open Championship James Braid was the first professional and members have included Winston Churchill and David Lloyd George. The American professional Tom Weiskopf considered the closing stretch starting at 13 as one of the finest in golf.
Sunningdale - Old Course image

The Old Course, designed by Willie Park, is the more famous of the two courses, but only acquired the title of Old when the New Course, was built in the 1920`s. The Old course, is widely regarded as one of the finest inland courses in England, with 103 bunkers, with pine, birch and oak trees lining the heather culminating with the famous 18th hole and the final green below the ''Sunningdale Oak Tree," earning it comparisons to Augusta National, home of the Masters tournament.

Swinley Forest image

The legendary architect Harry Colt described Swinley Forest as his "least bad course." He was being modest, of course. The club, one of the more exclusive in England, is a fine layout that has thrived for more than a century. The course features fescue fairways, poa annua greens and though it lacks the brawn of some modern courses, it still poses a stern test. No. 17, a par-3 with an elevated green, is a beauty.
The Berkshire - Red image

Home of the Berkshire Trophy, one of the most prestigious amateur tournaments in England which counts among its past champions Peter Oosterhuis, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle and Ross Fisher. Berkshire Red demands accurate tee shots. Dense groves of pine trees and troublesome heather line the fairways. The course has six par-3s and the 16th features a small green and measures 221 yards from the back tees. An accurate driver will have ample scoring opportunities.
